We may be able to resume games in June.

With the latest announcements from the government, we are planning to have an abbreviated season this summer. We are waiting on some clarification from the government on when adult hockey games will be permitted to go.

Summer Season Plan
At this point - we are looking at a possible 8 to 10 game mini summer season - with a playoff game or two at the end.
We need to hear from all teams that are interested in participating in this abbreviated summer season, so we can begin planning and be ready to start as soon as the government gives us the ok for adult hockey games to start.

Team Fees
Fees will be approximately $300 per game per team. The number of games will depend on lifting of restrictions that would allow league play and team fees will be determined accordingly.

Highlights regarding the summer season include:

• 8 to 10 regular season games. Playoffs to be determined.
  The number of games and playoffs will be confirmed once we know for certain when we will be able to resume league play.
• All games are during the week. Monday to Thursday.
• Game format is 3 twenty minute run time periods with the last two minutes in the first and second period, as well as the last five minutes in the third period being stop time, depending on the goal differential. With this format teams will get more ice time especially during games with fewer whistles. Line changes are allowed on all whistles.
• Ice slots are 90 minutes and there will be a flood after every two periods of play.
• Overtime format is 3-on-3 for 3 minutes.
• Quality facilities - showers at all arenas used.
• Divisional placement based on team’s playing ability. 
• High caliber hockey in the upper divisions.
• Safety of players is a priority for the league.
• Team fees include player accident insurance.

Team Roster
Team roster size will be determined once we have heard more from the government about any restrictions that will be in place with adult hockey. Based on the Alberta Governments’ plan, we should be able to have normal rosters (i.e. no cohorts).
